What caught me by surprise however, just simply walking down the street, enjoying my day and being another person in society. On several separate occasions people saw my jacket or shirt and asked if I was on the Olympic Team and if I was going to Sochi. Of course I responded "no" to both questions but I told them that one of my goals is to be on Team USA and to compete at the Olympic Teams. These conversations I had were amazing, random people and even "petitioners" as I call them (people constantly getting you to support their cause) are not only express interesting but able to talk to them a little about my sport and my training as well as my goals. The responses from these strangers and my friends were just wonderful and motivating, with both of us walking away with a big smile and them offering very encouraging and supportive words to me in my endeavors. It was a wonderful reminder that I am working to be apart of something that is truly great.
"Thanks for sharing! All my best to you in reaching your goals, it all starts with that first step, and belief in yourself. Hope to meet at some point on your journey! Namaste, Greg"
We all have those moments when life can get a bit rough, however in the midst of the roughness I often am reminded and discover that there is twice as much good in the world and people who truly want to see you succeed in your passions and endeavors, in the end all of us being apart of something great.
