Right to the point, for people who use age as an excuse they are holding themselves back from accomplishing amazing things. As a fitness professional I hear it all the time, “I wish I could do that, but I am too old” or “enjoy that while you can because you’re time is limited!” Maybe it is my young naivety but I simply do not accept that conclusion. The fact is if you accept that as an excuse to explain your lack of even trying. You were never were capable of accomplishing it anyway.
Just like everybody else, there are always many different reasons why an someone who is getting older might want to train. Perhaps it’s to stave off aging, reduce the onset of Alzheimer’s disease, remain independent, break new barriers, to inspire others or even if it’s just for fun. You might think that you’re too old to start anything new, but while you sit there and justify that, someone who is in fact older than you is out there right now doing it.
